A stool is a single seat, back less and armless
resembling a pedestal. They are used for sitting purposes and reaching
the higher unreachable places. They provide a healthy sitting posture
for meditations or for students in labs. They may be cushioned for
comfortable sitting.
Wooden stools provide comfortable, healthy seating for meditation,
gardeners, students etc. Light and sturdy, the use of wood allows easy
transportation and storage of these stools. Generally, wooden stools are
cushioned to provide a comfortable seating. Any furniture food like
beech, cherry, teak is suitable and can be given different finishes.
They are quite commonly used in homes, commercial places and even the
educational institutes, laboratories and libraries. There are 4 major
types of stools namely
Bar Stools, Step Stools, Counter Stools and
kitchen stools.

Bar stools are high sitting stools suitable for bars, pubs &
restaurants. Counter stools are fast picking up in popularity. Step
stools provide a sturdy base for standing on and reaching the places at
a height. They are often used in libraries and kitchens. Kitchen stools
are used for seating at the breakfast or while washing the dishes.
The stools may be given intricate angles and curves to give a
traditional or contemporary look. The basic design of the stool remains
the same. They may be inlayed, painted or structures in different ways
to enhance the aesthetic value.
