total protection.
The armors left no body part exposed. The armor had to be flexible for
free movement of and lightweight at the same time. To make an armor
encompassing all these qualities made the craft of armor making a
specialized craft. The life of the warrior depended upon the quality of
the armor and so the good craftsmen in earlier days were high in demand.
These finished suits could weigh anywhere from 20-30 pounds.
Today, one doesn't require an armor suit for protection but for the
decorative reasons. They are kept in spacious lobbies or near the
massive doorways with an antique appearance. Armor replicas are also
required for museums and to enhance the ambience of historical places
known for wars and warriors. Armor manufacturers customize them to the
specifications that include the material and style as per the era. They
may also be inscribed or embossed.
